Cannot insert EPS files in docx documents ========================================= The documentation on wiring was prepared in docx format to allow the use of monospaced fonts (Lucida Sans Typewriter) and for easier modifications. However, it turns out that, starting with Office 2010, Microsoft has dropped support for EPS files: Because of a security vulnerability in EPS files, Microsoft has turned off the ability to insert EPS files into Office documents. If you attempt to insert an EPS file into an Office document, you'll only get an image placeholder with a message that says the picture can't be displayed. As substitutes for EPS files, Microsoft recommends EMF and SVG, with are both graphics metafile formats. File Type Supported by this version of Office ----------------------------------------------- EMF Office 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, and Microsoft 365 SVG Microsoft 365 Note that SVG can only by copied and pasted from Internet Explorer. However, the resulting image in docx is not a vector image. Consequently, the only alternative to EPS remains EMF. To convert the original EPS file to EMF, either export it directly from xfig to EMF, or use an online conversion tool such as CloudConvert.com or Convertio.co, both of which can convert an EPS file to EMF or SVG. The EMF file is imported as a vector image and the final pdf can be scaled without loss of quality. ------------------------- https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/support-for-eps-images-has-been-turned-off-in-office-a069d664-4bcf-415e-a1b5-cbb0c334a840 https://cloudconvert.com https://convertio.co
