Heliox is the iTC503 controller for the three Sensors of the Heliox insert. To operate Variox together with the Heliox insert the two iTC503 controller and a Labview Application handling the recondensing are necessary. Heliox is the Mercury iTC controller for the control of a Variox cryostat, a pressure sensor regulating the NeedleValve of the Variox Cryostat and the control of three Sensors of the Heliox insert attached to the controller using an internal procedure HelioxX.p handling the recondensing. The Heliox Mercury iTC Controller is specially designed for a Variox cryostat being operated with a Heliox insert. Any .dat file located in (\\FS02\3500) \Temperature Sensors\Tables\ may be copied as well to the memory stick. - Stop the Midas front-end communicating with the Mercury iTC controller. - Plug the USB stick into the Standard-A plugin on the rear side of the controller. - On older versions use the front panel menu "Cal Update" to specify the calibration type of the sensor (e.g.: NTC, PTC, Diode or Thermocouple) and the calibration file to download the table to the controller or on newer versions use the front panel menu "File Transfer" to select "Destination" according to file type (e.g.: Diode, Dummy, NTC, PTC, Thermocouple, Pressure, ...) - Remove/unplug the sensor cable connector from the controller mainboard or daughter board. - NOTE Make sure to have the appropriate cable. According to the type of sensor, the wires of the sensor must be connected in a different way to the pins of the D9 socket. - Select the respective temperature sensor (daughter card or motherboard) using the touch panel and on the "Temperature Sensor Details" page first select the sensor type in the drop down menu and then select the calibration file of the sensor. - In case a heater is connected via DB9 connector, make sure to turn the heater off by setting the heater to Manual mode and setting Heater% to 0 in the Control Loop Configuration menu - Turn the power of the controller off. - Attach the sensor connector to the sensor and the controller. - Turn the power of the controller on. - Make sure the background color under E is brown enabling remote access.
